5 Reasons to surf in winter in Lanzarote
Famara, one of Europe’s best surfing destinations
Kitesurfing in Lanzarote is easy and quick to learn
If you love surfing, the sea and other adventure sports, it is impossible not to talk about kitesurfing and not arouse some curiosity in you.
To calm your curiosity and to bring you a little closer, today we make a stop on our blog to talk about a sport with a lot of character: kitesurfing.
Kitesurfing in Lanzarote is for all levels
Yes, yes… just as you read it. It is a sport that you can practice even if you have never ridden a board before.
Kitesurfing consists of gliding across the water on a board thanks to the drag provided by a kite. If you’ve ever been wakeboarding, the feeling may be familiar to you.
At first glance, you might think that it is a complicated sport and that kitesurfing is not for us (because of the size of the equipment, the sea and the board, and other elements: wind, harness, etc.). However, it is a discipline that anyone could practice, regardless of the level or experience in other sports of similar modality, as Alex, Kitesurf instructor at Red Star Surf, tells us.
Lanzarote is an ideal destination for kitesurfing in Europe at any time of the year
From Red Star Surf as good lovers of what we do and hosts of the island where we have decided to deploy our adventure, we must confess that Lanzarote lends itself to enjoying some good kitesurfing sessions.
It is an island where the temperature is good almost all year round. At the same time, the wind is usually present on the north side of the island providing the perfect conditions for kitesurfing. Famara Beach is one of the ideal areas for this sport, with an extension of approximately 5km and a specific area set up for kitesurfing.
