Our kitesurfing instructors are experienced and certified — and every one of them is a qualified lifeguard. No experience required: we take you from your very first kite to riding independently. The Canary Islands are among the best places in the world for kitesurfing, and Famara Beach is famous for its constant wind and waves. The beach is 6 km long and wide, with no rocks and no reefs — safe and suitable for every level, and a big part of it is specially reserved for kiters. Our teaching method is built on experience: we help you set real kitesurfing goals and reach them step by step. How fast you progress depends on your experience, fitness, determination and perseverance. Once the basics click, it’s time to go out and practise — from that point on, your life will never be the same. Safety first. Every student wears a helmet at every lesson, at every level. Kite gear, harness and wetsuit are provided — just bring swimwear, sun cream and water. Level 1 — Kite Control: Level 2 — Into the Water: Already an experienced kiter? Brush up your skills, work on your style, fix old mistakes or learn new tricks — Independent Level lessons are built around your personal goals, with a full refresher of safety systems, preflight checks and kite control. Staying for a few days? Multi-day discounts are applied automatically when you book — and we recommend a rest day after 3–5 days of kitesurfing. We had a 2-hour lesson with the Red Star Surf guys on Friday and it was fantastic! We teach from your very first kite to independent riding, step by step. If you’re already riding, Level 3 lessons and kite rental are available too. Safety comes first: every student wears a helmet at every lesson, all instructors are certified and qualified lifeguards, and you learn safety systems and self-rescue from day one. Famara’s sandy beach has no rocks and no reefs. Different every day — kitesurfing follows the wind and the tides. We’ll contact you a few days before your course to confirm times; low tide brings perfect learning conditions. Swimwear, sun cream, water and a towel. Kite gear, harness, wetsuit and helmet are all provided. Day 1 is kite control on the sand, day 2 your first body drags, and between days 3 and 5 most students combine kite and board and ride. Progress depends on your fitness, determination and perseverance. The group course (from €150/day) is the most fun and affordable way to learn. Private 1:1 (from €190) is the fastest way to progress. Semi-private 1:2 (from €290) lets you learn together with a friend. At Famara Beach — 6 km of sand with constant wind, a reserved kite zone and no rocks or reefs — or at the best spot of the day, with return transfer from our centre included. Yes — you receive a Kitesurfing Certificate on courses of 5 days or more, plus a free school T-shirt. Medical insurance is included with every lesson. Looking for more answers? If you are flying in for the wind rather than living here, the Kite Camp package puts the course and a room into one booking: lessons, all the gear, and a bed in one of our surf houses, from 375 € for a short break. It also comes with the honest part written in. Famara’s wind does not follow a calendar, so if there is no usable wind during your stay you surf instead: the missed kite days are replaced by the same number of surf lessons and we refund the price difference between the two.
