Visit Lanzarote
Our beautiful island is one of the seven Canary Islands, Spain’s most popular tourist destination. The amount of international tourists increases each year.
Visit Lanzarote for surfing
Our surf school is based in the small quiet fishing village Caleta de Famara in the north of Lanzarote. Caleta de Famara is surrounded by volcanic mountain ranges, caves, beautiful beaches and of course waves.
Due to Lanzarote’s importance for the balance of our planet’s ecosystem, the whole north of the island is a nature reserve protected by UNESCO.
Our surf lessons take place on Famara beach, just a stone’s throw away from the village center. The beach break at Playa Famara offers 6km of coastline, providing waves for all skill levels. Enjoy the insanely beautiful backdrop of rugged volcanic mountains, while chilling at the beach or catching some waves.

The favourable geographical positioning of Lanzarote provides the island with a powerful swell from all directions. The predominant swell in Famara is from W-N while wind tends to come from the SW-E. As a result, in autumn, winter and spring double to triple overhead conditions hit the spots and produce waves of extremely high quality. Therefore, Lanzarote is perfect for water sports such as surfing and kitesurfing.
Surfing is possible in all weather conditions, with an abundance of swell and surf spots that work in different wind and swell directions. That’s why the Canary Islands are also known as the Hawaii of Europe and the North as the famous North Shore. Truly a surfer’s paradise!
Visit Lanzarote for sunshine and beaches – the warmest place in Europe
You can come and visit Lanzarote all year round – it offers mild temperatures, beautiful beaches, fascinating sunsets, excellent cuisine and different cultural and fun outdoor attractions. Politically it belongs to Spain. Nevertheless, geographically it belongs to Central Africa, a 2-hours flight south of the southernmost tip of Europe. Consequently, Lanzarote is by far the warmest place in Europe.
Surfers from around the world love our island and appreciate it as the perfect place to escape from the harsh north European winter or to enjoy the nice summer conditions.
