Fly to Lanzarote

The airport is in the capital of Lanzarote, Arrecife (ACE)

You can get direct flights to Lanzarote from most big European cities, such as Madrid, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Munich, Milan, Bologna, London, and Barcelona.

The best prices can be found on flight online search engines, such as Skyscanner

Airfare may vary significantly depending on the season, conditions of the ticket refund, possibility of changing the flight and personal data, and your general preferences as to the class of traveling on board of a plane.

The average round-trip ticket from Central European cities to Lanzarote is 50-150 euro. Arrecife Airport (ACE) is located in the south of the island. It’s a 25-minute taxi ride from Caleta de Famara.

Ferry to Arrecife or Playa Blanca

Taking a ferry to Lanzarote is a great option if you don’t like flying or prefer to bring your own vehicle with you.

You can take the ferry from Cádiz or Huelva (Andalucía, South Spain) or from one of the neighbouring Canary Islands.

The trip from mainland Spain takes around 1.5 days, offered only on certain days. The trip from Fuerteventura takes only 25 minutes and runs hourly.

Find more information from the operating ferry companies or on the ferry booking websites.

Car rental in Lanzarote

Renting a car is an equally convenient way to get to Caleta de Famara. You will be able to save money on taxi fare as well as plan an intensive cultural program including visiting the most interesting sights and exploring the island. The average rental charge is 100-150 euro/week. We work with PayLess Car rental which is located at the airport.

There are two easy ways to make a car reservation. You can reserve a car directly by clicking on the PayLess Car logo (below), or by providing us with your full name, flight data, and rental period.

You will be able to pick up the car either at the airport or in Famara upon arrival in our surf shop.

Top tip: When you arrive in Lanzarote from an international destination, your arrival terminal will be T1. When you arrive, from a neighboring island your arrival terminal will be T2.

Taxi from the Airport

The most convenient way to get to our surf school is by a taxi. The ride will take you 25 to 30 minutes, and will cost about 35-40 euro.

Taxis are available at the airport 24/7.

Public Bus

If you are on a low budget, you might want to take a bus to Caleta de Famara. Despite the attractive bus fare (around 5 euro), the ride will take you a great deal of time because the bus line frequency is fairly low.

Tickets are sold on the bus – don’t forget to name the bus stop you are traveling to (Caleta de Famara) as the this is what the price of the ticket will depend on.

The maximum banknote accepted on the bus is 10 euro, so you are better off having some coins on you.

  • Monday to Friday:
Bus line 22 from the airport to Arrecife’s main bus station Intercambiador, then change to bus line 20 to Caleta de Famara.
  • Weekends:
Bus line 23 from the airport to Intercambiador, then change to the line3 from Intercambiador to Costa Teguise. The bus stop that you need is Playa Bastian.
There you change to bus line 31 to Caleta de Famara.

When planning your bus trip, you are strongly recommended to check out the official website of Lanzarote public transportation.
